Delete Account

Last updated: August 14, 2026

1. Start deletion in the app

  1. Open DevPhrase and select the Profile tab.
  2. Select Delete account.
  3. Read the confirmation message and confirm the deletion request.

The request applies only to the signed-in account. Please keep the app open while it confirms the request.

2. What deletion removes

When the remote deletion is confirmed, DevPhrase removes the account and its associated training records. This includes the training context, Retry relationships, audio metadata, structured feedback, scores, statuses, and related identifiers in the service. Original audio is temporary server data and is included in the service cleanup process. Under the current configuration, transcripts are not persisted in the training database.

The app then clears its local authentication session, onboarding state, training history, Retry state, and local business state. A completed deletion does not automatically create a new account. To start again, you must take an explicit action in the app and complete the applicable age and account process again.

3. Status, failures, and retry

DevPhrase sends one authenticated deletion request for the current account and shows its status in the app. A request can remain pending while the service retries a temporary failure. If remote deletion cannot be confirmed, the app keeps the local deletion process available for a safe retry. A network error, an expired session, an authorization error, or an unknown status is not treated as proof that deletion finished.

After remote deletion is confirmed, the app completes its local cleanup. If local cleanup cannot finish, the app retains enough local state to retry that cleanup without recreating the deleted account.

4. Limited retention

We do not maintain a separate long-term account-deletion record containing training content. Provider-level logs and backups can retain limited information temporarily under their own retention processes. If applicable law requires or permits a narrow retention, we will retain only what is necessary for that purpose and no longer than needed.

5. Need help?

If you cannot use the in-app deletion control, contact support@devphrase.com and describe the problem. Do not send a password, one-time code, complete authentication token, API key, recording, or full transcript by email. For related information, see the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
